Riviera Maya, Mexico In A Weekend

I wanted to share a recap of my little trip this past weekend with you guys.
I will be back to posting my regular outfits next week as I'm still trying to get back into the swing of things. Sometimes you need a vacation after your vacation to get back to normal. Lol. Don't you think?

My husband and I flew out on Thursday to Rivera Maya, Mexico for one of our great friends' wedding. I've been to Cancun before but this was my first time with my husband in Mexico. We stood at the Azul Sensatori Resort. I LOVED our stay there. If anyone visits that part of Mexico I highly recommend that resort. I give it a 5 out of 5.  The service, the food, and activities on the resort were perfection. I fell in love with the bed in the room, I really have a thing for canopy beds but I can't get my husband on board for one in our home lol.

Day 1
The first night the bride to be had a welcome party. The minute we checked in we got dressed and ready for the party. That was pretty fun because we had the chance to mingle with everyone while eating delicious food and dancing to amazing music. This was an Indian wedding so I got to see a lot of cultural things. One thing I must say is that Indians know how to party! Lol  I had such a blast dancing Indian music.

Day 2
This day was wedding day! Ever since I've been a bride, I get so excited for weddings because I know the butterflies my friend had the morning of her big day. :)  The ceremony was on the beach and the set up was beautiful. The bridesmaids wore beautiful saris and it made wish I would've bought one for the ceremony. The groom and groomsmen had such an epic entrance. They arrived on a boat with music to the ceremony. That was pretty bad ass! The bridesmaids and guests were dancing with the groom and groosmen on the beach while the bride overlooked everything from the balcony before the ceremony started. That part was really cool.

The reception at night was located outside of the hotel. There was transportation provided for the guests to the location. The reception venue was located on the beach. The food and music were so good; have any of you ever ate crab cakes with chipotle sauce!?
I've never been to a wedding on a beach nor an Indian wedding but I must say we had a lot of fun dancing the night away.

Day 3
This was our last full day and all I wanted to do was tan since there were no wedding activities. Unfortunately the sun was not out that day. It peeked from time to time. I really wanted to tan! wahhh. Me and my husband ordered some room service and just hung out on our balcony to admire the beautiful view. After that, we headed to the cabanas by the pool to lounge around. Then we met up with our friends and some of the guests for a little pool party fun. I really didn't want the day to end.
At night we walked the resort trying to soak up every last bit of our mini vaction. We ended up dining at a night with one of our friends we made from the wedding at a restaurant tapas-style. We got to taste and share a lot of different foods that I wouldn't even think about trying back home (lol) like duck wraps and bacon wrapped shrimp. I went to bed with a stomach ache that night but I think it was worth it lol.

Congrats again to my friend Priya and her new husband Jigar for tying the knot. You two will be infinitely blessed with love and happiness, and I was so glad to be able to witness your union. I love you guys. I can't wait for my next travel adventure soon!

Have a great day guys!
