Day 3 NYFW -FW19 | Oxford Studio Fashion

nyfw, nyfw streetstyle, pier 59, fashion week, nyc bloggers, nyfw2019

Day 3 was a fun day but it was SO cold! I came back home sick and I'm sure it was due to the cold on this day. It was unbearable no matter how many layers you had on. This look was one of my favorites because I'm currently obsessed with anything snake skin and also this coat means so much to me. Would you believe me if I told you this coat belongs to my grandmother? My grandmother in her day was all about fashion. I guess the love for fashion runs in my blood. For those that don't know I grew up with my grandparents, they are practically my second set of parents. She use to show me a ton of pictures of her when she was younger and I loved her style and sense of fashion. It reminds me so much of my taste in fashion. Even through out my years when I was living with her she use to have so many cute shoes and a ton of things that I wish were my size so I could wear. She's now retired and lives on an island and has left behind a lot of her things. I guess you don't need a floor length hooded fur coat on an island. LOL This coat she gave to me and I just had to wear it to NYFW. It's so cute, fashionable and it may look thin but that thing was really warm! It paired so well my snake skin pants. My husband said I have 90s vibes with this look and I don't mind that at all. It reminds me a little of the JLo and LL Cool J video in the snow from back in the days. Thanks grandma for the coat!!

This day we had one of the longest shows in Pier 59. Oxford Studio Fashion had 14 designers showcasing their designs. I love this one because it's a mix of independent designers from all over the world. There was a little bit of everything in this show with so many different designers. It was hard to narrow it down but I choose 6 of my favorite designers from the bunch and shared my favorite looks below. It was tough to narrow it down but if I had to choose one collection, Ron Ramos was up my alley. I would love to learn more about him because his collection left me wanting more. I wanted every piece in that collection. Check out all my favorites below and let me know which one you like!

Day 2 NYFW -FW19 | Fashion Hong Kong & Chromat

Fashion Hong Kong, Chromat, nyfw, new york fashion week, nyfw2019, Industria, nyfw streetstyle

Day 2 started really early in Industria and I had 2 shows to start the day. I honestly had no idea what to wear because the weather was just crazy. It was humid and cloudy in the morning then it turned out to be a beautiful sunny day. I wasn't taking chances with my hair like day 1 so I pined I up in a side bun. Not my favorite hair style but it's better than puffy hair. I wore black denim with my favorite new jacket form Lookbook Store Daily. This jacket is so fuzzy and really warm. This one is currently out of stock but they have so many other cute and warm jacket options as well. I love this new trend of fuzzy jackets or like me and my friend call it, the bathrobe trend. Ha! (They do look like chic bathrobes). The location of these photos were my favorite because it has such a city vibe. I love taking pictures in the city and I feel that's something I didn't take advantage of enough when I lived near by.

Fashion Hong Kong

I look forward to this show every season and they always showcase a collection of amazing designers. It was the first show of the day for me and this show is a popular one. It's a really crowded one! There were three designers for this show and I'm sharing my favorites from the collection below.

112 Mountainyam - This collection had a nice mix of color. There was a mix of camo, tailored, and sportswear styles. My favorite was the knee length camo coat with the splash of bright colors.

Anveglosa - This one was my favorite and had a lot of leather and feminine silhouette looks. It was classic and chic in my opinion. I really wanted everything from this collection.

Heaven Please+ - This one is a team of two designers and this collection was full of color. Lots of bomber style jackets and great use of accessories. My favorite and also the crowds favorite was the plaid floor length coat!

Chromat

This show was amazing! There was so much diversity with models of all shapes, sizes, and race. The collection was called "Climate" and there was a mix of lots of bright swimwear with complimenting coverups. The designer lives in Miami so her interest in global warming, climate change, and what continues to happen to the environment showed through her collection. I love how she highlights environment issues through her amazing collection.

Stay tune for Day 3.

Day 1 NYFW -FW19 | Indonesian Diversity

Indonesian Diversity, NYFW, NYFW2019, NYFW Streetstyle, printed coat, fashion week, new york city bloggers, soho, industria

It's that time of year... New York Fashion Week! It's one of my favorite times of the year to visit New York, meet up with friends, share my favorite looks, and attend shows to see amazing collections down the runway. NYFW is February is the hardest because man oh man that cold harsh weather can be tough especially going from show to show. Weather aside it's a fun time of the year for me and this year I did it as a mom for the first time. It felt so hard leaving my favorite little person for a week and it's the longest I ever been away from her. I hope one day she sees this as an example that she can follow her dreams and pursue whatever makes her heart happy just like her mom did.

For day one the weather wasn't as bad and my look to Indonesian Diversity was one of my favorites. I wore a faux leather skirt with a printed jacket and over the knee boots. These OTK boots where my savor through out my whole trip. They are comfortable to walk in, and a nice stylish touch to any look, plus they kept me warm. I wore my favorite hosiery brand, Berkshire underneath which held everything in place. Ha! A lot of you on Instagram commented on my coat so much and guess what guys this little printed gem is from Old Navy. I love their outerwear selection! I always find a gem or two. When I put this look together it was not meant for day one but one thing I learned over the years of attending fashion week is that nothing ever goes as planned and just go with the flow!

The show consisted of four amazing Indonesian designers showing their Fall/Winter 2019 collection. Some of these looks I wanted to rip off the runway so bad. The designs were amazing, great use of color, so many different patterns and fabrics. I also loved the headpieces. I always wanted to rock a Hijab I think they are both so cultural and so pretty.

The designers:

Dian Pelangi - This one was my absolutely favorite. The women wore hijabs and the looks were modern with a mix of sporty street style. The dresses were layered with a jackets and clinched belts. The colors were a nice mix of pinks, yellows and blacks.

Alleira Batik - This collection was more sophisticated and consisted of beautiful flowy dresses. I would definitely say this entire collection was wearable!

Itang Yunasz - This collection had more traditional Indonesian print with amazing details. The turbans were also from the traditional fabric but man they were gorgeous!

2 Madison Avenue - This collection was my second favorite. I love the use of all the colors especially the hot pink. The designs and headpieces were totally out there. Bold statement pieces for sure!

Getting Ready For A Galentine's Date In The City, gno, girls night, city dates, shea moisture, castor oil, date night

If you have been following me on social media recently, then you know I've made my way to New York City for Fashion Week. It's such a fun time for me and I love that I get to do it with my favorite gal, Marisol from Mari Estillo. Every February for Valentine's Day, I'm usually in NY with her doing all fashion week events. This year we decided to go out on a Galentine's date to celebrate the month of love together. We are in the Big Apple during the week of Valentine's, so why not celebrate our friendship?! Keep on reading and see how I get ready for my Galentine's date in NYC!

As much time as I dedicate to my outfits when I go out, I love to give my hair some TLC too. I always start with a wash because I love fresh hair to go out. I'm a haircare product junkie and I'm very picky with my hair products. I only use products that have good benefits and natural ingredients for my hair. SheaMoisture is one of those brands for me: I've been a fan of their products for as long as I can remember. The SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Shampoo and SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Conditioner are amazing! The shampoo is sulfate-free and leaves your hair smooth and shiny. It strengthens damaged or chemically processed hair and, if you guys read my hair journey post here, you know how much chemicals I used to use on my hair. I'm talking toxic perms, as well as trying every hair color dye in the book. People compliment my hair so much now but it was a long journey. Products like SheaMoisture with key ingredients have helped restore my hair. The conditioner also smells amazing and has a nice consistency to it. Big plus for me that it has a little pump to get the product out. It's formulated with Jamaican black castor oil and organic shea butter, which helps nourish and give your hair moisture.

Hover over the image above to get more product information and you can also shop them! I love that they are affordable and you can find them in your nearest Walmart.

While I blow dried and straightened my hair, I used the SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Styling Lotion. It protects your hair from the damaging effects of heat styling and it increases the hair's resistance to breakage. It also leaves an amazing shine on the hair. I feel like my hair is not complete on wash day if I don't have shine, so I always opt for products that leave hair with shine for styling.

Date time with my favorite Gal! We both love hanging out in New York City and we took a day to explore, eat, and take pictures around the city. After all... we are bloggers.

We love finding pretty street corners and taking pictures. Thank you Marisol for our Galentine's date in the city. You're a great friend and fashion week partner in crime!
