Is it even fall if you're not wearing a blazer? Haha! I saw that caption the other day and thought it was so true. No matter how many trends come and go blazers are classic pieces and are perfect for the start of the fall season. If you have been following my blog from the beginning then you already know my love for blazers is real. You've probably seen every style and color of blazers on me. I love how versatile they are! If you would like to see a post on different ways to style a blazer let me know!

I've bought this blazer during the end of my pregnancy and knew I would wear it eventually post pregnancy. I love the material, cut, and color of this one. I paired with a pair of culottes and my favorite mules. The hat was a last minute add-on and I love the pop of color it gave the look. It also gave my look some serious Parisian vibes. I seriously feel like all I'm missing is a baguette. Hey, I wouldn't mind visiting Paris again! AU REVOIR!

Check out below I linked a ton of blazers in different styles and colors you can wear this fall season. Let me know which one is your favorite!

We are officially three weeks into fall and I'm finally getting my wardrobe ready for fall. Aside from all the fun fall activities I really love fall fashion. For me, it's all about booties, hats, dresses, and layers. Like this midi sweater dress from PinkBlush. I love fun sweater dresses because they are easy to style in the fall. I'm obsessed with this colorblock black knit midi dress for a few reasons. First I LOVE the pockets and you guys know how much I love dresses with pockets! Also, I love that it's postpartum friendly for me. I'm still adjusting to my new body and slowly starting to get into some kind of a workout routine. It's not as easy now with a baby but I'm sure I will make it work. For now, it's all about wearing clothes that make me feel comfortable and work well with my new body.

Let's talk hair today guys! I'm a beauty fanatic and I love trying new products. I love sharing products that work for me with you guys even more. I'm very particular about my hair care products because my scalp gets dry easily and that pesky dandruff comes out to play. The Fall season is here and with the change in seasons that's when my scalp gets dry the most. I love wearing black a lot, especially during the Fall, and seeing those annoying flakes drives me crazy. I've used anti-dandruff products in the past but the products were harsh and took away my hair's moisture balance. I also noticed that they made my hair feel rough.

You guys know Dove is one of my favorite beauty brands, that I both love and trust, so I definitely had to try the Dove Dermacare Anti-Dandruff Dryness and Itch Relief Shampoo and the Dove Dermacare Anti-Dandruff Dryness and Itch Relief Conditioner. I picked up the duo in Walmart's hair aisle and first things first? I must say it smells amazing. I'm a sucker for hair products that smell good!  I also love the formula: it's formulated with coconut and shea butter (which I love), which means it nourishes and alleviates dryness. Dove Dermacare leaves your hair flake free with regular usage and nourishes your hair so you don't have to compromise flake free and nourished hair.

Don't you just love a product that has a lot of amazing benefits?!
Latley I have been rocking my Afro-Latina curls and I just couldn't imagine using products that take way the moisture balance in my curls.

Thank you Dove Dermacare for giving my hair the TLC it needs. This will be my go-to product this Fall season.

Things Postpartum Moms Don't Want To Hear

Hi everyone!

I have been a little absent on the blog because I have been living my best postpartum life (whatever that means lol). As of today, it's been almost 6 weeks since I had my baby girl through a c-section and I'm finally starting to feel as close to my old self as possible. I'm not saying I'm superwoman because I still take precaution when doing certain things but I am able to bend more and do more normal day to day things. I'm finally getting back into the groove of work so I'm excited to share my first post of the month. I came across an article last week on the What To Expect app from real moms about all things they hated hearing postpartum. Some of them were really funny and some I totally can relate to. I'm sharing today four that resonated with me: if you can relate or have any of your own please feel free to share them below.

Baby Looks Nothing Like You
I know my baby girl looks 90 percent like my husband but when I hear the "she looks nothing like you" comment it just makes me feel like "um hello, was I just a surrogate here". I did the hardest work, in case you didn't know. 😂

Sleep when the baby sleeps
I got this one a lot during my last trimester and now postpartum. Trust me, I totally get it but at what point do I cook, clean, and do things? I'm happy I have a great husband and we alternate so we can have breaks away from babygirl to do whatever each of us desires.

Back In My Day
I think this one is the one that makes me cringe the most. Also, this one goes out to the old schoolers (sorry grandma, but if you are reading this, know that, while I love your advice the majority of it is based on things from over 30 years ago!) Times change!

Don't you miss being pregnant
Um, let me answer that politely... NOOOO! For some, pregnancy was magical for me it wasn't. I really don't miss being pregnant at all. Let me enjoy my postpartum period because that last trimester and labor and delivery were tough!

Here's the full article!

As I'm getting use to my postpartum body I'm learning how to dress for it. I recently got this loose-fitting frayed plaid sleeve dress from PinkBlush which fits super comfortable and I love the way it fits on my postpartum body. Their selection of dresses is very diverse with lots of styles.

I'm not cleared to exercise by my doctor yet and although breastfeeding has helped me shed a few pounds I still have the post-baby pooch. I can definitely hide it in this dress. I paired the dress with a belt and a wide brim hat for some fall vibes.

My Birth Story: Welcome To The World Leah Cristina

I can't believe I'm finally writing this post! The third trimester was so hard on me and felt so long, I honestly felt like I was going to be pregnant forever. Before I get into my birth story I must say there's no baby app, article, or advice from anyone that will prepare you for labor. I must have read up on birth and delivery so much during my last trimester but all of that went out the door when it was time for me to experience it.

The last week of July I went into my doctor's office for my 39-week appointment. The baby was full-term happy and healthy. However like I said before the last trimester hit me so hard especially as the days got closer. I told my doctor about how I had been feeling and I was diagnosed with anxiety. With my doctors ok, my husband and I decided an induction was the right decision at the moment for my sake and the baby's sake. On August 1st we were admitted to the hospital to start my induction. I was nervous, scared, and excited to meet baby girl. Once the process started with the first set of medicine I started feeling contractions right away. I always thought what do contractions feel like and now that I experienced them I can say that shit hurts like hell! Lol By the end of the first day I was only dilated 3 centimeters and I felt so disappointed. My doctor did warn us that being induced can take up to 3 days before any real action happens but I was in so much pain from day 1 I wasn't sure how much longer my body could take. By day 2 my body was still responding very slow to the medicine so they moved on to other measures to help me dilate faster. They tried a mechanical dilator and all I can say that was extremely painful and a little traumatizing mentally. I thought for sure this was going to work and help me dilate faster. By the end of day 2, I had only dilated about 4-5 centimeters total. I felt a little hopeless and my body was exhausted and in so much pain.

Day 3 (Friday) I couldn't take the pain anymore so the hell with my birth plan and I asked for an epidural. I dreaded getting an epidural from the beginning of this pregnancy but when push came to shove I asked for it. They had to try the epidural three times on my back because the needle just wasn't going through where it had to. They ended up doing a spinal catheter instead and in the middle of the procedure my water broke and I started to have a panic attack right at that moment. After that I don't remember much because I started to feel like I was going in and out of conscious and I couldn't breathe. I do remember the amazing nurse that held my hand the whole time calling for back up and her telling me to stay with her. After that, I remember waking up with an oxygen mask on and about 6 nurses and doctors in the room. That's when I had learned I was in the middle of having the spinal catheter entered while my water broke and while I was having a panic attack. That's a lot going on in one shot! After that whole ordeal happened and I was numb from the waist down I asked my husband to touch my toes. He thought it was pretty funny but being numb from the waist down while your brain is telling you to move your toes and you can't, can mess with your mind. You kind of think you are paralyzed.

I finally got some sleep now that I wasn't feeling the contractions and by the afternoon the doctors came in to check how much I was dilated. I really thought I was going to hear the magical number but I was only dilated 5. By then the doctors told us that my body wasn't dilating and I had already been in the hospital for 3 days they weren't sure how much more my body could take. Later on, we found out because of the way the baby was positioned it was letting me dilate.

Again my birth plan when out the door and we trusted our doctors and went for a c-section. My body felt a sense of relief but at the same time, I was scared. I never read up on c- sections because I was set on a vaginal delivery. I did know it was a major abdominal surgery and probably had a much longer recovery. Once we opted for the c-section everything moved pretty fast! I was prepped and my husband was in scrubs in about 10 mins then I was being wheeled into the room. I should have prefaced this blog post by letting you know I have never broken a bone or had surgery before so being in that room getting ready to be opened was a little scary for me. At exactly 8:35 pm on Friday, August 3rd I heard more of a laugh than a cry and saw this blue baby being held up over the blue curtain in front of me. I honestly couldn't believe my daughter was here! Hearing her cry while she was being cleaned and weighed had me in tears the whole time. After I was closed up and I finally got to hold her, it was the best feeling in the world that I just can't describe into words.

Recovering from the c-section while adjusting to life with a newborn has been hard but I must say my husband has been amazing through it all. Becoming parents to Leah Cristina has been the best thing to happen to us.

Showering Baby Girl

I wanted to share this post a few weeks ago but I'm finally getting around to it. Showering baby girl was such a fun a day and I wanted to share some photos from that day. I didn't have a theme in mind but I knew for sure I wanted pink a gold together. Those colors just mesh so well together! I'm a super hands-on person and also crafty so this shower wasn't a surprise. Hey that's just me I always like my hands in things especially anything party related. I love doing decorations and putting party stuff together.

The location was in a nice venue back home in New Jersey. It made the most sense because 85% of our family and friends live in NY/ NJ. My amazing grandmother made the cake and the sweet table full of delicious sweet treats. She's so talented and it makes me so emotional knowing she's made every birthday cake for me since I was 1, my wedding cake, and now my baby shower cake. That means so much to me! My family was very helpful in setting up and I'm very appreciative of that.

I didn't have any baby shower games because it was only for 4 hours and I just wanted people to dance and have a good time. It was also a good time for my husband and I to catch up with old friends we hadn't seen in forever. We did, however, have a diaper raffle. My sister-in-law had suggested that and it was such a great idea. Anyone who brought diapers got a raffle ticket to win a gift card. We got so many diapers! Our house is stacked with diapers everywhere. I'm sure that will come in handy soon.

For my look, I wanted something with lace and ended up ordering a dress online that didn't fit. I was freaking out a bit because it was close to the shower and felt like I wasn't going to find something else on time. Well, Amazon to the rescue! I ended up finding this peachy lace dress that fit like a glove. My husband's suit was also from Amazon and I loved the way it looked on him! A big shout out to my sister for doing my eye makeup! She's super talented and I was just too tired that day to even remotely do my makeup. #pregnantproblems

Sorry for the picture overload, hope you guys enjoy these pictures!

Real Life Pregnancy Talk - 36 Weeks

The last few weeks have been so trying for me as I'm in the end game of this pregnancy. I have never been one to be a Debbie downer or complain all the time but these last few weeks have been hard. The baby kicks have been so hard to the point I cry when she kicks me in my rib and I feel that sharp pain down my back. I haven't been sleeping because those kicks keep me up all night. I go to sleep at 11pm with my husband and wake up at 6am with him and in-between all those hours I probably get 3 hours of sleep. I'm not able to the things I like to do or that keep my mind of things like clean, organize, and do my job, blog. It's hard to sit or even lay down during the day. Only way baby feels comfortable is my standing up and I get it because it's getting crowded in there for both of us. I look at the calendar every day like a clock because yes I'm very excited to meet baby girl but I also am tired of being frustrated and in pain these last few weeks.

I voiced my frustration to my husband and felt so guilty saying it out loud. I don't want people to think I'm being ungrateful for this beautiful miracle God has blessed me with. But just because I'm growing a human doesn't mean I'm not human and feel physical pain. My husband always knows how to make me feel better and told me my feelings are valid. My frustration doesn't mean I love my baby girl any less. I had my 36-week appointment yesterday and also voiced how I felt to my doctor and she said: "heck I hated being pregnant!" I literally laughed out loud. She told me some people make out pregnancy to be this easy thing from start to finish and for some people it is but it's not like that for everyone. It's totally ok to feel the way I'm feeling.

Somehow since yesterday I feel so much better and wanted to share this on my platform without feeling guilty about people judging me. Heck, there might be other mama's to be out there who feel the same or mama's who went through the same thing during pregnancy. I really do feel so much better now that I have shared it out loud. If any other mamas felt or feel this way would love to hear about your pregnancy experience.

My Maternity Shoot

"You are my definition of perfect"💗

I'm so excited to share these photos with you guys! I had such a hard time narrowing them down because I seriously loved them all. I can't believe in 5 weeks or less we get to meet our little precious baby and become first time parents. I'm dying to know who she looks like, how much hair she will have, how does her crying sound. Carrying her in me is such a miracle and I thank God every day for her.

The kicks are getting harder, it's so hard to sleep at night, and I don't possibly think my skin can stretch anymore. It's been a tough last few weeks as I head into the final stretch but if I had to do it all over again just for baby girl I would.

Come out any day now, baby girl, we are excited to meet you!
