Day 1 NYFW -FW19 | Indonesian Diversity

Indonesian Diversity, NYFW, NYFW2019, NYFW Streetstyle, printed coat, fashion week, new york city bloggers, soho, industria

It's that time of year... New York Fashion Week! It's one of my favorite times of the year to visit New York, meet up with friends, share my favorite looks, and attend shows to see amazing collections down the runway. NYFW is February is the hardest because man oh man that cold harsh weather can be tough especially going from show to show. Weather aside it's a fun time of the year for me and this year I did it as a mom for the first time. It felt so hard leaving my favorite little person for a week and it's the longest I ever been away from her. I hope one day she sees this as an example that she can follow her dreams and pursue whatever makes her heart happy just like her mom did.

For day one the weather wasn't as bad and my look to Indonesian Diversity was one of my favorites. I wore a faux leather skirt with a printed jacket and over the knee boots. These OTK boots where my savor through out my whole trip. They are comfortable to walk in, and a nice stylish touch to any look, plus they kept me warm. I wore my favorite hosiery brand, Berkshire underneath which held everything in place. Ha! A lot of you on Instagram commented on my coat so much and guess what guys this little printed gem is from Old Navy. I love their outerwear selection! I always find a gem or two. When I put this look together it was not meant for day one but one thing I learned over the years of attending fashion week is that nothing ever goes as planned and just go with the flow!

The Show

The show consisted of four amazing Indonesian designers showing their Fall/Winter 2019 collection. Some of these looks I wanted to rip off the runway so bad. The designs were amazing, great use of color, so many different patterns and fabrics. I also loved the headpieces. I always wanted to rock a Hijab I think they are both so cultural and so pretty.

The designers:

Dian Pelangi - This one was my absolutely favorite. The women wore hijabs and the looks were modern with a mix of sporty street style. The dresses were layered with a jackets and clinched belts. The colors were a nice mix of pinks, yellows and blacks.

Alleira Batik - This collection was more sophisticated and consisted of beautiful flowy dresses. I would definitely say this entire collection was wearable!

Itang Yunasz - This collection had more traditional Indonesian print with amazing details. The turbans were also from the traditional fabric but man they were gorgeous!

2 Madison Avenue - This collection was my second favorite. I love the use of all the colors especially the hot pink. The designs and headpieces were totally out there. Bold statement pieces for sure!

Getting Ready For A Galentine's Date In The City

Getting Ready For A Galentine's Date In The City, gno, girls night, city dates, shea moisture, castor oil, date night

If you have been following me on social media recently, then you know I've made my way to New York City for Fashion Week. It's such a fun time for me and I love that I get to do it with my favorite gal, Marisol from Mari Estillo. Every February for Valentine's Day, I'm usually in NY with her doing all fashion week events. This year we decided to go out on a Galentine's date to celebrate the month of love together. We are in the Big Apple during the week of Valentine's, so why not celebrate our friendship?! Keep on reading and see how I get ready for my Galentine's date in NYC!

As much time as I dedicate to my outfits when I go out, I love to give my hair some TLC too. I always start with a wash because I love fresh hair to go out. I'm a haircare product junkie and I'm very picky with my hair products. I only use products that have good benefits and natural ingredients for my hair. SheaMoisture is one of those brands for me: I've been a fan of their products for as long as I can remember. The SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Shampoo and SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Conditioner are amazing! The shampoo is sulfate-free and leaves your hair smooth and shiny. It strengthens damaged or chemically processed hair and, if you guys read my hair journey post here, you know how much chemicals I used to use on my hair. I'm talking toxic perms, as well as trying every hair color dye in the book. People compliment my hair so much now but it was a long journey. Products like SheaMoisture with key ingredients have helped restore my hair. The conditioner also smells amazing and has a nice consistency to it. Big plus for me that it has a little pump to get the product out. It's formulated with Jamaican black castor oil and organic shea butter, which helps nourish and give your hair moisture.

Hover over the image above to get more product information and you can also shop them! I love that they are affordable and you can find them in your nearest Walmart.

While I blow dried and straightened my hair, I used the SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Styling Lotion. It protects your hair from the damaging effects of heat styling and it increases the hair's resistance to breakage. It also leaves an amazing shine on the hair. I feel like my hair is not complete on wash day if I don't have shine, so I always opt for products that leave hair with shine for styling.

Date time with my favorite Gal! We both love hanging out in New York City and we took a day to explore, eat, and take pictures around the city. After all... we are bloggers.

We love finding pretty street corners and taking pictures. Thank you Marisol for our Galentine's date in the city. You're a great friend and fashion week partner in crime!

Leah Cristina: 6 Month Update

baby's first snow fall, mommy and me, baby and mom winter looks, baby winter coats, mom bloggers, winter wonderland, winter outfits

I can't believe Leah is 6 months today!! I feel like time is flying by because I feel like she was a tiny newborn just yesterday. I keep joking around with my husband saying that soon she'll be off to college. Haha! I haven't done a Leah post in a while so I'm sharing a 6 month update today.

This girl has so much sas and personality! I can definitely see a lot of my husband and me in her. She loves to talk and look at people and is very chatty. When we took her to take Sanata pictures in December I thought I was going to have a bad experience with a lot of crying and fussiness. Especially with all the past mom experience I was reading but Leah was a blast! She was so chatty and smiling with everyone even with the cashier. Leah is definitely going to be a people person. She had such a good experience with Santa! She definitely gets that from my husband because he's very chatting and loves talking to everyone. She also loves taking pictures and maybe she gets that from me. Lol!

She's been sleeping through the night fine and has some kind of a routine which has helped me adjust to working from home and taking care of her. Not saying I have that "balance" figured out because things change day to day and I have to adjust but I feel I have balanced it much better than when she was a newborn. It's crazy to see how much she's grown because she's outgrown so many clothes and toys I've had to put away and it makes me a little sad and happy because she's growing up. She's so dependent on me and I know one day she won't be

She's eating solids now and LOVES apples and carrots but she hates squash. I tried a few times but that girl does not like that vegetable at all. She's not much of a fussy eater or a fussy baby. If she's crying it's because she's hungry, tired or something is bother her. She's always smiling and being silly. If you follow my Instagram stories you know exactly what I mean. That girl is a walking meme because she's always being silly. I also love posting her daily outfits and I hope you guys been enjoying that. She has so many cute onesies and clothes that were gifted to her that she will outgrow soon because she's growing so fast.

I love that little girl so much and I can't wait to see her continue to grow. I hope you guys have been enjoy this motherhood journey and silly pictures and videos of little Tutu!

Keeping My Pores In Check With Biore

This post is sponsored by Bioré, but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.
biore, biore toner, biore nose strips, witch hazel, pores, breakouts, skincare

Taking care of my skin in every way possible has always been on top of my list. I tell you guys all the time that I want to look 21 forever and in order for that to happen I have to take care of my skin. Clogged up pores can be a scary thing! Sweat and dirt can get trapped in your pores causing your skin to breakout. I'm a big fan of products that do some deep cleaning to help you pores. I have been loving the Biore Witch Hazel Pore Clarifying Toner and Biore Witch Hazel Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strips. Biore is a great skincare brand with high quality products: best of all, they are super affordable! My night time routine includes these two products a few days a week.

The toner is lightweight, helps controls oil and deep cleans leaving you with clearer pores. Washing your face with a cleanser is not enough, sometimes you have to go a little deeper to get anything rooted deep under your skin. The witch hazel is a natural ingredient to help heal skin and tighten those pores. On the days I wear heavy makeup I love using this toner because you won't believe what gets left behind even after wiping off and washing my face.

The strips are my favorite part because you can actually see the dirty that comes out of your skin. The proof is there and it is like magic! The extra-strength pore strips work like a magnet removing, even the most stubborn black heads that are deep down. After washing you face you simply wet your nose a bit, peel the strip off the plastic, and apply to your nose. Just leave it on for 10-15 minutes. Then carefully peel off and you can see all the gunk that was living in your pores.

Both these products (toner and strips) can be found at your local Walmart and retail for under $10! It's a great affordable product your skin will love! I always say to give your skin some extra TLC so make sure you take care of your pores to achieve great skin.

Hope you guys enjoyed his post, and   thanks for reading!

"In the meadow we can build a snowman..." I think I miss Christmas music or maybe it's all these snow pictures that are making me what to sing that song! A few weeks ago we had the most epic snow fall. It was snowing for two days non-stop and boy did the snow accumulate. I always wanted to take fun snow pictures in the beautiful while snow but always chicken out because I'm too cozy in my house or just don't want to deal with the cold lol. This snow fall was just too pretty not to snap some pictures plus I got to wear my new hooded coat.

You guys know I love thrift shopping and if you are new here, this girl loves to thrift shop and find gems. It's funny how one persons trash becomes someone else's treasure. I found this Mossimo coat and because of that print and hood I had to bring it home. The hood is my favorite part because it adds a nice style to it. The jacket may look light but it's surprisingly warm! I was going to save this jacket for NY next month but I couldn't wait to wear it and share it on here.

Did it snow near your area this month? Did you brave the snow and cold for a picture like me? Haha! I also took out Leah in the snow this day and it was her first snow fall. I will be sharing a few pictures in a post  with our first mommy and me look on here!

How To Brighten Up Your Winter Wardrobe

winter wonderland, mom bloggers, fashion bloggers, otk boots, winter hats, pink outfits, pink motto jacket, lookbookstore, knit sweater

If you read my last post then you know how crazy the temperatures have been around here lately. We even had a big snow fall over here, hence the massive amount of snow in the background. After the snow the temperatures dipped to one digit numbers. Winter is in full effect and before you get into a style winter rut I'm sharing how to brighten up your winter wardrobe. Winter can have a toll on us because with the weather we have been experiencing It makes you just want to wear the same winter layers over and over. Today's look is a fun way to brighten up your winter wardrobe. Even with the chilly temperatures back to back you can still have fun with your winter wardrobe.

Adding an element of color is a great way to refresh and brighten up that wardrobe. This pink jacket is a favorite of mine and adds a nice pop to this winter look. I must confessed this jacket is a spring jacket but mixing it with winter pieces makes it winter appropriate. I layered underneath it a cable knit color block sweater from LookBook Store. I love the mix of two basic colors and this sweater feels really cozy and warm. Sweaters are essential to winter so why not make them a cute one?! You can't forget other winter basics like boots and a hat. I wore basic colors like black, grey and white to have the jacket stand out. I also added my favorite pink bag for a little matchy matchy play with the jacket.

Go ahead add a pop of color to your winter looks and see how refreshed your wardrobe will feel. I feel that when we hear the word winter we think of the color black automatically. It's one of my favorite colors and also living in New York for a long time, black was basically my everyday color. However, I love playing with color every once in a while especially in the winter. For me, I love doing it with coats and jackets. They are the heart of your winter wardrobe so why not play around with some color! Below I linked a few coats and jackets that will be sure to brighten up your winer looks!

Mixing My Old Wardrobe With New Pieces

new wardrobe, oversized coat, printed pants, fall outfits, mom bloggers, fashion bloggers

new wardrobe, oversized coat, printed pants, fall outfits, mom bloggers, fashion bloggers

I'm a big believer of repeating pieces because I love to challenge myself on how many different ways can I wear the same piece. The jacket, purse, and boots are old pieces that I have worn SO many times before. I mixed those old ones with some new goodies that were recently added to my wardrobe. These paisley printed pants and this soft white top from Mode de Vie are the perfect addition to my wardrobe. I've never been a huge fan of printed pants but these are so comfortable, I feel like I'm wearing leggings. The best part is that they are high-waisted and I don't know about you guys but high-waisted bottoms for me tend to high secrets. This mamma is still hiding the post baby weight! I'm also not a  big on mixing prints but the paisley print from the pants mixed well with the checked print from the jacket. Mixing old pieces from your wardrobe with new ones is a great wait to maximize your closet and also give your old pieces a nice refresh.

I shot this look a while a go and never got a chance to share it. It was a part of a Instagram collaboration but I loved the look so much I wanted to share it on here as a full post. If I look under bundled is because it was warm this day compared to now. The temperatures are freezing over here so I'll be sharing some winter looks here!
