This Mother's Day is so special to me because it is the first official one that I am a mom. Ever since I became a mom it has made me appreciate my mom even more. So much time, dedication, and love goes into raising a child and I know that firsthand now. I didn't live with my mom growing up but we always had a special relationship. She made a tough decision of letting my grandmother raise me while she got on her feet and got an education. I've always told you guys my grandmother is my second mom because I grew up with her and that's the reason why. I'm the oldest of my sisters and I've seen my mom raise two beautiful and intelligent ladies.

I love my mom so much and this Mother's Day I'm gifting her a Mothers Daughters Heart Charm Bangle Bracelet from Kohl's fine jewelry collection! My mom loves wearing all types of jewelry and accessories (I guess I get that from her) and this bracelet is perfect for her. It has three cute charms and one has a mother daughter inscription inside. I love gifts that have a personal touch and, if you are looking to gift a special lady in your life this Mother's Day, Kohl's has so many amazing options to choose from in their fine jewelry collection.

One of the things I love about shopping at Kohl's is that they always have amazing sales. From 4/24- 4/28 they will be having 70-75% off fine jewelry in selected styles. You can find a great gift for Mother's Day at a great price. Also: don't forget Kohl's Cash, a system of rewards redeemable on merchandise that you can earn based on how much you spend.

A Casual & Comfy Spring Outfit

Spring fashion, spring outfit ideas, streetstyle, mom bloggers, fashionable moms, lookbookstore

Lately I have been all about comfort and today's look is a mix of casual and comfy. I received this front twist long sleeve top from Lookbook Store and honestly had no idea what to do with it. I tried it with jeans and it just looked frumpy. I hate when you love a piece and it just doesn't look how you styled it in your head. Has that ever happened to you? After trying a few different things I found this red skirt hidden behind my closet and it just kind of gave the top a whole new vibe. I didn't realize how great the two colors paired and coincidentally I matched with the floor of the shoot's location. To spruce up this casual look a bit the excessive hair pins which are trending gave the look a little trendy touch. I'm honestly obsessed with that hair trend.

If you are new here or missed my announcement a few weeks ago on Instagram, I launched my Youtube channel! It's something I have been wanting to do for a while and I'm happy it finally came to life. You can subscribe here! I created an entire video with many hair styles using these bobby pins. You can check out that video here.

Festival Fashion | A Festival Inspired Look

Festival outfit ideas, festival fashion, cochella, cochella fashion, cochella looks, what to wear to cochella, sheingals, shein festival, festival season

It is festival season and that means our social media feeds have been overflowed with Coachella pictures. I love the music and I most definitely love the fashion but being in a huge mosh pit crowd would probably give me huge anxiety. I've seen a lot of people complain about their feeds being intruded with massive Coachella posts but I honestly enjoy seeing the fashion. I love the cool hippie fashion vibes this festival showcases.

In the spirit of festival season today's look is a festival inspired look. I never got a chance to wear this dress last summer when I ordered it because my pregnant belly was growing fast. I love the open slits and works perfect for the festival vibes I was going for. Coachella style looks are all about accessories and the round frame sunglasses, wide brim hat, extra bangles and necklaces compliment the look perfectly. Honestly the more accessories the better. Fashion to me is art and I love experimenting with different styles and looks.

Are you guys into Coachella or just like to see the fashion like me?

Date Night Outfit Idea + My First Date With My Husband

datenight outfits, jumpsuit, spring outfit ideas, spring styles, spring trends, lookbook store, national harbour

Date night these days has been a little different since becoming parents. We still try to make the best of it though. We try to take advantage of any time we can to try and have those little moments together. We have gone out to eat with Leah even when we don't have a sitter and I'm so grateful she's a very good baby because she doesn't become fussy while out. It's still nice to go out just the two of us and when my mom and sister came to visit a few weeks ago we made plans to go out just the two of us and guess what... we decided to stay home and just rest instead. Haha! Parent life.

When those few date nights do happen I love to dress up. Any opportunity to dress up I'll take it. This navy ruffle jumpsuit from LookBook Store is a perfect date night outfit. It's sexy, chic, and comfortable! I was a little afraid of how it would fit with my postpartum body but I love the fit. The length is a bit long but I decided to roll with it. I love that it made me look super tall. I can't even say my photographer shot at an angle, it's just the way the jumpsuit looks on me that makes me look elongated and I love it! The material is super soft and breathable. I also love the ruffle details. It definitely gives it a nice little flirty touch which is why I love this jumpsuit for a date night outfit idea. Would you wear this as a date night look?

                                                                  _________________

Speaking of date night I thought this would be a great time to share my first date with my husband. All first dates always have a good story. I've written about my husband before here so if you are new here you can get to know him in this post and this post!

On June 3rd, 2011 I went on my very first date with my husband. I picked him up in my car since I was the only one driving at the time and we headed to downtown New York City. It's never a good idea to drive into NYC but we did anyway and parked on the street. We ate at Southern Hospitality, which is Justin Timerlake's restaurant and it's the yummiest soul food ever! Before we moved to D.C. we tried going every year in July to celebrate our first date anniversary. After we were done and our way out, they invited us to have a free shot in the bar downstairs. We said yes and it was the nastiest shot ever! It was so strong and I felt the effects right away because I tripped on my feet when we were exiting the restaurant. I wish we would have never drank that. We then walked to the AMC on 42nd street and watch a X-Men movie that had just came out. (I should have known then he was a comic book head). Since it was a new release the theater got packed early. By the time we got in we had to sit in the first row right up front. I HATE seeing movies that close because you can never see anything. I admitted to my husband years later that I kind of fell asleep during the movie. Haha! It was almost midnight in my defense.

After the movies we were calling it a night and we were walking to my car so I can drop him back home since we lived in the same direction. We couldn't find the car and for a minute I thought we just forgotten were we had parked. After a while it dawned on me that the car must have gotten towed because I was certain I parked in that area. He went into a local bar just to ask because we found it weird that there were no cars parked outside that street. The guy at the bar said a tow truck came and took a ton of cars parked outside. Now anyone who's lived in NYC knows how confusing those parking signs are so I guess we misread the times it was ok to park there. I started to freak out and didn't know what to do. My husband called his cousin who worked for the NYPD at the time to help us out. All he needed was my license plate number and I honestly couldn't remember it at all. He told us where the nearest towing station was and said it had to be there. The towing station from where we were was about 20 blocks! At this point I was so mad so we decided to just walk to the towing station. Honestly in that walk we talked so much that I forgot I was upset about my car. I should have known then he was the one. To this day that is the dynamic of our relationship. I'm the one that freaks out and he's the one who calmly figures out any problems.
When we finally made it to the NYPD towing place we waited for a very long time. When the officer finally came back I was so relived to know my car was actually there. It cost $300 to get the car out. Apparently I missed the signed that said night cleaning and that's why I got towed.

My husband paid for the ticket, and I must say I must have been his most expensive first date ever lol. It's about to be 8 years since that day and I honestly still remember it like it was yesterday. I can't wait for Leah to ask us how did we meet and about our first date because it's such a great story to tell.

Trending: Transparent Bags | 25 See-Through Bags For Every Budget

transparent bag trend, see through bags, spring trends 2019, spring outfit ideas, stylish moms, mom bloggers, vince camuto bag

One of the biggest trends this spring is transparent handbags, clutches, totes, backpacks, you name it. It's such a cute trend but it definitely gives me the excuse to keep my purse neatly organized. Ha! I always have a mess in my purse. I'm the person looking in the pit of their purse for 5 minutes trying to find my keys or lip balm. The tote I'm wear in today's post is from Vince Camuto and I like that it's not full on see though. If you're not ready to bare all your purse contents this purse is a great balance. It's perfect for spring and complimented this look perfectly. I'm a big fan of black and white together and since I was going for a fresh spring look I added a pop of color with these coral pumps which are also from Vince Camuto. Honestly one of the longest pumps I have had in my closet.

How do you guys feel about the transparent bag trend? I think it's a nice trend that can elevate your look. Below I linked 25 see-through bags in various styles and at different price points. Comment below and let me know which one is your favorite!

Overall Denim Dress

Trendy outfits, spring outfit ideas, overall jumper, lookbookstore daily, mom bloggers, dc bloggers, streetstyle, armandhugon

Denim overalls always bring me back memories to junior high school days. I will never forget my favorite pair of denim overalls that had a huge Winnie the Pooh face on the front. Haha, man I wish I could find those pictures. This blue side pocket overall denim dress from LookBook Store is my chic updated version. I really wish I could show my junior high school self this look! I must say this Lookbook Store piece is my current favorite. I love that they also sell pieces on Amazon.

I paired it with this flare sleeve crop top which is probably the only way I can get away with wearing it in my postpartum body. I'm definitely hiding "it all" under this denim overall dress. I love the fit which is loose because these days that's kind of what I have been opting for. The white trendy sunglasses and red boots elevated the look and must say I don't care if it's spring I can't seem to put these booties in the back of my closet. I'm still obsessed with them!

The Perfect Comfy Chic Outfit For Moms On The Go

mom bloggers, dc bloggers, spring outfit ideas, denim jacket, mom oufits

I feel like every mom has their go-to outfit they gravitate towards. For me if I could wear today's look everyday I would be happy. On the weekends there is always so much to do in my household like run errands and heck even on some weekdays it can get a little hectic with appointments and other things that come up. I've learned how to dress quickly, comfortable, and still make it fashionable at the same time. One thing I said to myself after becoming a mom is that I don't want to lose my essence and the little things I enjoy like makeup and dressing up. I don't mean it in a superficial way but those little things are enjoyable to me: playing with makeup, fashion, and dressing up. I've just had to adjust a bit. Instead of spending 30 minutes on makeup I've learned how to just do the basics in 10 minutes and when it comes to my outfits I've learned to go for comfort with a little bit of fashion.

Like I said in the beginning of the post, if I could wear today's look everyday I would. This plain black midi dress is so comfortable and breathable. I added a little fashion to it with this star embroidered denim jacket. I'm so obsessed with this jacket at the moment and it's the perfect spring piece currently in my wardrobe.  I even love the fringe trim which gives the jacket so much detail. Sneakers are a must for me lately. My heels have taken a back seat because it's very hard to carry a 20 pound baby with heels. Don't get me wrong they are still sitting pretty in my closet and I do wear them from time to time but sneakers are a bit more practical for me on weekends.

Adding accessories always brings a simple look up a notch and I love these clear sunglasses which are trending and this crossbody bag from Lauren Conrad. I honestly can't believe how much stuff I can fit in this crossbody bag. The pop of color definitely brings the look to life. This is such an easy and effortless look and best of all it's comfortable. Just becasue I became a mom doesn't mean I have to let go of the things I love, it's all about adjusting now!

What does your mom on the go outfit look like?

My Favorite Places to Shop for Baby Clothes

mommy and me, mommy and me outfits, baby clothes, mom blogger, fashion blogger

I can't believe my sweet baby girl is just a few days shy from turning 8 months! Where has the time gone? The saying that your kids truly do grow up in the blink of an eye is so true. If you been reading my Leah posts from the beginning then you know she was blessed with so many clothes during my shower. Honestly, for the first few months with the exception of a few essentials we haven't had to buy her any new clothes. However as she started to grow and gain weight there's so many clothes she has left behind. Seriously, there's a bin full of clothes that's just overflowing with clothes that don't fit her. We want to donate some and keep some. Maybe baby number 2? Haha! We are definitely no where near there yet.

Recently as the weather is changing we have had to buy her some new clothes to go with the weather. Like this awesome baby denim jacket I scored at Kohl's for $16! Guys, Kohl's is one of my favorite places to buy clothes for babies, their so many great pieces and fashionable ones too. I feel like I'm lacking in the mommy and me department so any chance I get to match with my favorite little person I'll take it. The denim jacket is perfect for the spring weather and fits her so comfortable. Below is a list of some of my favorite stores to shop for baby clothes and I linked a few cute pieces (boy and girl) below.

Retailers:
Kohl's
Like I said Kohl's is great because of their cute trendy selections and great prices. They always have a sale and I love using my Kohl's cash every time I shop.

Target
Every time I go into Target for one thing I always end up getting a few things but that's just how the story goes for everyone. No? Even when I go to Target for just baby essentials I always find some goodies there for her. All those bows and hair accessories you see on her are from Target.

Amazon
Such a large retailer there's so many things and brands to choose from. With Amazon prime things come next day so that's always a plus.

Stores:
Old NavyBaby Gap
These two are great! My favorite is Old Navy because they have the cutest little outfits down to shoes. If you catch a good sale you can find baby clothes for even $5 and under.

Carters
I love Carters because they have unique onesies and all types of baby clothes. If you have been following my highlights on IG that I created for Leah to post her outfits then most of those cool onesies are from Carters!

Spring Fashion At Walmart

This post is sponsored by Walmart.com but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

Walmart fashion, We dress America, streetstyle, mom bloggers, spring fashion, denim dress, walmart clothes.

My favorite part of spring is the gorgeous weather change. When the weather gets warmer here in D.C I think of brunches and taking tons of pictures in the beautiful corners of D.C. Taking pictures is a part of my job and I love finding charming little places and corners to take pictures in.

As the weather gets warmer that also means I get to switch up my wardrobe. I love spring fashion and I love to wear fresh airy colors and pieces like this belted midi dress from Time and Tru collection that's available at Walmart. Yes, Walmart! They have a ton of spring apparel that's perfect to add to your wardrobe as the season changes. You guys know how much I love fashionable pieces at affordable prices. This denim belted midi dress is very airy and comfortable. I love that it has pockets, it's belted, and it's under $25!

To top off the look I added a white denim jacket, also from the Time and Tru collection from Walmart. A white denim jacket has spring written all over it and guys it's under $20! Walmart has amazing styles at amazing prices. What I love about these two pieces is that they are versatile so you can get many uses out of them. I can't wait to wear this dress again and style it in a different way. I can definitely see this dress a bit more dressed down with spring sneakers or even flats. I can also wear this denim jacket with pretty much anything. I love wearing pieces I can get multiple uses out of.
