January Recap

Hi guys!
I can't believe it's the end of January already!  It feels like just yesterday I was writing my first post of 2014! Crazy how time is flying. I wanted to do a little recap of my January outfits. This month has been crazy in terms of weather, with back to back snowstorms and lest we forget the polar vortex with extremely chilly temperatures. I really envy the West Coast right now; I'm wishing for warmer days. I'm yearning for pastels, open toes, and maxi dresses. Spring, where are you?!

My January outfits were full of layering but still keeping them chic, and not to mention all of the great bargains I found this month.

So unill February lovies! Hope you continue to follow my blog for details, inspiration and my bargaining tales. lol. Speaking of bargains, check out my latest article on Joonbug ( Get the Look for Less: Grammy Edition )

Baby it's Cold Outside

Happy Tuesday loves! Boy has it been cold. Brrrr!
I want to apologize for the lack of outfit posts this week. It's been brutally cold lately with single digit temperatures and wind chills that feel below zero. I, also, have been feeling under the weather a bit. I've been trying to shake it off before it gets worse. With that said, I'll be doing different posts this week with a little more reading involved.

I was able to get this shoot in this past weekend. I was on my way to run some wedding errands in the city and I wanted to be extra warm because it was really cold. I really love this knitted infinity scarf because it's super warm and I love the rusted orange color. Whenever it's really chilly in the winter I like to wear infinity scarves because they keep me warm and protected from the wind. I kept the look simple with a plain gray pea coat, which I've had for a while now from H&M. I wanted to add a little more color so I wore my mustard colored jeans instead of regular denim. The finishing touch was a cute head band with gold tiger print on it, which stood out even more against the scarf and the mustard jeans.

Scarf - Joyce Leslie
Coat and Purse - H&M
Headband - Forever21

Hope you guys enjoyed this short post. I will be posting a few different things this week since I wasn't able to take many pictures this past weekend.
Stay warm.

50 shades of Red

Happy Thursday!
One more day until the weekend and hopefully it will be a snow free one. lol I took these pictures before the snow storm hit by this beautiful pond area I found, and it is now all covered in snow.

I'm starting to think red is my favorite color; when I look in my closet I tend to see a lot of red pieces lol. I wanted to create a pantsuit and what better color to do it than with red? It's such an elegant color. This blazer is actually one of my favorites. It's an oldie from Forever21. It has the perfect fit. I like to roll up the sleeves a bit when I wear it in the spring. I paired the suit with a plain white loose shirt. The shirt a has faux leather patch around the shoulders but it was too cold to take off the blazer. I will be re wearing it again when it gets warmer.
I recently got this fabulous peter pan necklace from Lolablue, thecloset, I love her jewelry pieces because they are affordable and super cute! I actually met her at a blogger soriee I attended a few months ago and she was super sweet. Definitely check out her pieces guys! To finish off the look I wore these comfy black and white pumps that I got as a gift from my cousin during Christmas. I love the way black and white contrasts against red. I love pairing those 3 colors together. Lastly, I wore this amazing purse I've been obsessing over. I wasn't going to wear it until spring time but I couldn't help myself. lol. It has such a classy look and I just knew it would be a perfect match with the red suit I created.

Blazer- Forever21
Jeans - H&M
Necklace - Lolablue,thecloset

Hope I brighten up your day with this bright red post! Have a great day loves.

All in the Details

Happy hump day!
Hope everyone that got hit with yesterday's snow storm survived and is safe and sound!

I want to start off by talking about my coat because I'm very proud of my bargain and we all know I'm all about a good deal. I recently went to Joyce Leslie and they had a great sale on coats. I scored this one for only $20! I love the faux leather sleeves; that's been a big trend on sweaters, tops and coats. It also has a asymmetrical zipper which gives it even more detail and I love to tie the waste belt, instead of buckling it because it gives it a touch of my style. I'm seriously obsessed with it lol
Underneath I wore a chambray top for some layering with a plain comfy gray sweater. To give my outfit a chic factor, I wore a teal color statement necklace. Fashion Tip of the day: A statement necklace always does the trick if you're wearing a casual outfit. To finish off the look I added my current favorite neon heels from Lolashoetique; they are like shoe heaven for me. Definitely check them out for a good shoe selection. I call these shoes my babies (lol) and I can't wait to rock them in the spring time as well. Lastly, I paired off my outfit with a mini handbag. Perfect for the days you don't feel like carry a over-sized purse.

Chic in peach

Happy Monday guys!
I feel like this weekend flew by! There's only two weeks left to January. Wow! Time's flying.
It's still cold on the East Coast, so I'm continuing to layer up. I wanted to do a more chic layered look this time.

I love to wear layers during the Winter. Its a great way to keep me extra warm and the more layers the merrier. I wanted to show you guys that you can still look chic while wearing layers. I wore an ivory chiffon blouse as my first layer. I love the details on this blouse; it has a cute neck line that you can play with. I tied it up as a bow over the sweater. I've also worn it loose and it still gives off the same cute chic effect. If your following me on Instagram I posted this shirt worn another way, this time a more romantic look for a Valentine's day outfit inspiration with a red peplum skirt. (go check it out). I just love a reusing pieces, it's all about versatility!
My second layer was a peach sweater; it matched so well against the chiffon blouse. To give it a little edge, I paired it with boyfriend style jeans. I adore these jeans because they go so well with heels, in my opinion.
I didn't want to over accessorize so that it didn't clash with my big neckline bow. I only wore a brown cuff bracelet, which I got as a gift from a dear friend. She knows my style so well. lol. To finish off the look, I wore simple gold pumps and my brown H&M $12 purse from the Black Friday deals. I've been getting a lot of use of this bag so it was a great deal!

Sweater - Joyce Leslie

Floral Friday

Happy "Floral Friday"!
I'm very excited the weekend is here but I'm not excited that it might snow on Saturday lol. I'm really over the Winter and I've been having Spring fever lately. This Floral post is as close as I can get to Spring for now.

Florals are another favorite print of mine. I just love the girly vibe it gives off. I was going for a very colorful look to satisfy my spring craving a bit. I love mixing colors; red and blue are a great combo to mix. I paired this chiffon floral top with some distressed jeans. I added a blazer to give the outfit that chic factor it was missing. This is my more girly blazer; its shorter and more fitted in comparison to my other blazers. It, also, has a little poof on the shoulders. It's a very old piece from my Kloset; I really can't even remember where I got it from but I will post a similar one for you guys below.
Let's get to the accessories of the outfit! I recently got these red pumps for $25. They are honestly the most comfortable shoes in the world. By the end of the shoot I think I forgot I had shoes on. lol. They are from MakeMeChic, and they really have a good shoe selection. They are always having good sales from time to time, so ladies, please definitely check them out if you're a shoe freak like me! I, also, wore this electric blue clutch. It's such a vibrant blue and can be used as a clutch or over the shoulder bag. I loved the way it brought out the flowers on the blouse.

Clutch - Furormoda
Jeans - Forever21

Hope you guys have a great weekend! Don't forget to follow my blog and see what's coming out of my kloset next. :)

Getting Edgy

Happy hump day!
Hang in there because we are almost close to the weekend.
I wanted to give you guys a different look, I was going for the edgy side of me, which I feel I haven't shown you yet.

Lets get to today's details.

I recently purchased this faux leather skirt on sale for $13! What a score, huh? I was very hesitant to try a skirt with a asymmetrical cut in the front but I decided to give it a try. The zipper detailing is what really made the skirt stand out to me. It gave it a very edgy and chic look. I was going to pair it with a floral top and some pumps to give the outfit a girly vibe but I wanted to go for the edgy look instead. That just goes to show you how versatile this skirt is. You can dress it up or dress it down. I ended up pairing it with a comfy sweater that had a plaid design in the front. If you guys have been keeping up with my blog you know how much I love plaid prints! The sweater was another score off the sales rack at Love Culture for $9.99. Top and skirt for under $25? I think that's a great bargain!
For the finishing touches to this outfit, I added a red clutch and my favorite black booties. I wanted to keep the accessories to a minimum because of the accents on the skirts. Of course, I can't forget a bold red lip. I live for red lipsticks lol, but it adds the perfect finishing touch to an outfit.

Monday Blues

Happy Monday guys!
Hope everyone had a great weekend! I'm glad the cold front has left us and we get a  little break around the 50's. I wanted to really hibernate when it hit below zero degrees last week. lol  I took these pictures over the weekend without having to freeze.

I'm a HUGE fan of embellished tops. I feel that it brings a plain shirt to life. This shirt has such a 80's vibe and it almost reminds me of something my grandmother probably wore back in her days. I really wish it was long sleeve but I knew I could make it work. I wore a black long sleeve shirt underneath to give it the long sleeve effect, so the shirt can be worn in whatever weather. Originally I was going to wear blue jeans with this top but I felt wearing black pants would make the blue embellishment stand out on it's own. The black tights I have on are from Love Culture and they are very comfy. They have a nice elastic on the top for a good grip. Some tights aren't dressy, in my opinion, because they lack small details like the elastic band on these.  It's also made out of cotton, whereas your typical tights are made of spandex. The cotton material gives these pants a little more chic vibe
I added very minimal accessories since the top stole the show. lol. I wore a blue tote that matched perfectly. To finish this look, I wore some black cut out  pumps.
You might be seeing this top again soon on the blog. I really am in love with it and I would like to try it with other pieces. Fashion Tip: It's all about re-using pieces. :)

Top - Forever21
Tights- Love Culture
Purse and shoes - Mandee

Hope you guys enjoyed today's "Monday Blues". Enjoy the rest of your day.
