When Instagram got the questions feature for the first time last year I played Q&A with you guys and someone asked what I do for a living. When I answered full-time content creator some of you were surprised I do this full-time. I wanted to share a fun post today and take you through my day. Working from home 80% of the time and now with a baby is hard and a lot of work. In the beginning I was going crazy because I had no idea how to balance. I'm not saying I got it figured out 100% but I found some kind of groove and somedays go better than others.

I must start by saying as a content creator not everyday is the same. I've tried to have some kind of "schedule" for the week but that can vary as projects come along. That's the beauty of this job things constantly change and opportunities come through the door at any time. Coming from the corporate world where I did have a set schedule for many years it took me a while to understand this kind of job and sometimes I still struggle with that. I've also learn that as a mom, plans and schedules can go out the door at any moment. For the most part I've worked out a little routine and this is what it looks like for me. You'll read what's it like during my day as a content creator, mom, and wife!

Mornings
My day starts at 6am (sometimes I snooze to 6:15) and I start working. Leah usually sleeps until 8 or 9 but lately she's been waking up at 7:30. If I'm lucky she goes until 9:30 and it gives me 2-3 hours of interrupted time to work on my blog, social media, and emails. Unfortunately I have to do this from bed (I hate doing that) because she stirs a lot in the morning and since she sleeps in the bassinet next to me I'll just give her the pacifier and she just goes back to lala land. The night before I leave my computer charged and a to do list of things I want to accomplish so I get straight to it. In that time I'll get to my emails, blog post, social media post, and /or if I have any projects pending I have to work on. When she wakes up is when I physically get up and start my day. I change her, feed her, prepare the bottles for the rest of the day and also take out my dog's food. My husband leaves at 6:45 so I usually take care of my dogs food in the mornings. By the time her first feeding is done, I eat breakfast, shower, and brew that caffeine, almost 2 hours have gone by. I play with her a little and she goes down for her first nap. She use to sleep for about 2 hours but like I said things always change so now she sleeps for probably an hour max! I continue working while she sleeps. I catch up with my social media, edit photos or videos or if I have to take any campaign pictures in the house I try to do it in that hour that she sleeps.

Afternoons

By the afternoon Leah is full of energy! Lol. That girl is throwing toys in her playpen left and right. Between the early and late afternoon she has 2 bottles and I also feed her solids. I don't get much computer work done when she's up because she's very active now so I'm trying to keep up with her. I also get mom guilt and feel like I'm not spending enough time with her so I try to interact with her during the afternoons. When I sneak in lunch I try to work from my phone like answer emails, engage on social media, or edit my photos I have pending for my blog or social media to post for the week. If I am working on a campaign that week I give it priority and try to work on that during the day until my husband comes home. He usual gets home around 4:30 and when he does I take my dog for his afternoon walk. It's a great break for me to go outside get fresh air and disconnect from my computer and mommy duties. The weather is starting to get warmer so the walks are little more enjoyable. Working from home and being home 80% of the time can be hard because sometimes you crave adult interaction and just being outside. That 20% when I'm not home I'm usually shooting outfits or campaign photos, events, buying products for campaigns, or having work meetings with my fellow blogger friend. That definitely varies every week!

Evenings

My husband usually takes Leah when he gets home to give me a break so I usually take that time to relax, figure out dinner, or maybe do a chore or two. Also, two days out of the week my husband stays with Leah even after my little break so that I can work with no interruptions. I usually work on any pressing things or if it's a slow week I usually prepare content or get organize for the following week so that I can get ahead of the game and have less things to do during the day so I can focus on taking care of Leah. Over the last few weeks that schedule has been off because we've had appointments, unexpected things happen, and also my husband got sick. Like I said plans sometimes go out the door so I have to adjust. If I didn't catch up with something that has a deadline I usually end up going to bed super late and work on it after everyone has gone to bed. By the end of the night it's usually my favorite time because I get to unwind and watch my favorite shows on Netflix with my husband like The Office. We have watched the entire series three times lol. Leah usually goes to bed for he night around 9 and once she does I'll start preparing for tomorrow and just watch tv or relax until bed time.
