How I Relax & De-stress At Home

Last month was a super super crazy month for me guys. I was only a full month moved into my new apartment so you already know how that goes: I was unboxing and organizing like crazy because nobody likes a messy home. I was also prepping for NYFW. Fashion week is only a week but for me
it really felt like a month. There's so much preparation that goes into it and since I don't live in NY anymore I had to plan transportation, accommodations and let's not even begin to talk about all the outfits to pack! The weekend I got back I had some friends from out of town come over to see us and check out our new place. Let's just say that my body was running on empty the whole month of February. I felt like I needed to relax and decompress from those last two weeks alone.

While I was out of town, I received a package from Rader's Remedies with a essential oil bottle for relaxation and de-stressing. That couldn't have come at a more perfect time for me. I really love the packaging because it comes with a rose inside and, as my husband can attest, I love roses! The oil I received is called "Feel The Love", and it comes with a roller ball for application. It's 100% natural with ingredients of sweet almond oil, rose petals and lavender oil. Rader's Remedies is owned by Gillian Melia, a Cali-based herbalist with a huge love for nature. She has an amazing background in herbalism, nutrition and plant medicine. I was super excited to try the oil, so I incorporated it into my "Me Time" this past Sunday.

I feel I don't incorporate enough me time to relax at home. It's in my nature to always feel like I have to be doing something. (I really get that from my mom). It's so important to unplug and give your mind, body and soul a much needed break. Sometimes I read, and other times I work out. This Sunday, I decided I'd incorporate some of my favorite things that make me feel relaxed: those are fashion magazines, scented candles and soft music. It's funny how simple things like catching up on fashion trends in bed can be a de-stresser for me.  I'm currently obsessed with Susie Suh. I discovered her music when I binge watched One Tree Hill on Netflix not so long ago and now I'm hooked on her stuff. I applied the Feel The Love oil on my wrist and behind my ears and took a good deep breath with it right under my nose. The scent was mentally therapeutic and it really reminded me of a spa. Listen to your body guys, because your body will tell you when you need a break. Once I inhaled the fragrance, my body said "yes Patty, this is what I need." I have to make sure I give myself more days like this because I woke up today feeling refreshed and ready to take on the week. I love natural products and self-care tools, and Gillian has a whole collection for stress, relaxation, and anxiety so make sure you check out her Easy shop. She was kind enough to give my readers free shipping on any of her products with code FREEPATTY.
