Hi everyone!

I have been a little absent on the blog because I have been living my best postpartum life (whatever that means lol). As of today, it's been almost 6 weeks since I had my baby girl through a c-section and I'm finally starting to feel as close to my old self as possible. I'm not saying I'm superwoman because I still take precaution when doing certain things but I am able to bend more and do more normal day to day things. I'm finally getting back into the groove of work so I'm excited to share my first post of the month. I came across an article last week on the What To Expect app from real moms about all things they hated hearing postpartum. Some of them were really funny and some I totally can relate to. I'm sharing today four that resonated with me: if you can relate or have any of your own please feel free to share them below.

Baby Looks Nothing Like You
I know my baby girl looks 90 percent like my husband but when I hear the "she looks nothing like you" comment it just makes me feel like "um hello, was I just a surrogate here". I did the hardest work, in case you didn't know. 😂

Sleep when the baby sleeps
I got this one a lot during my last trimester and now postpartum. Trust me, I totally get it but at what point do I cook, clean, and do things? I'm happy I have a great husband and we alternate so we can have breaks away from babygirl to do whatever each of us desires.

Back In My Day
I think this one is the one that makes me cringe the most. Also, this one goes out to the old schoolers (sorry grandma, but if you are reading this, know that, while I love your advice the majority of it is based on things from over 30 years ago!) Times change!

Don't you miss being pregnant
Um, let me answer that politely... NOOOO! For some, pregnancy was magical for me it wasn't. I really don't miss being pregnant at all. Let me enjoy my postpartum period because that last trimester and labor and delivery were tough!

As I'm getting use to my postpartum body I'm learning how to dress for it. I recently got this loose-fitting frayed plaid sleeve dress from PinkBlush which fits super comfortable and I love the way it fits on my postpartum body. Their selection of dresses is very diverse with lots of styles.

I'm not cleared to exercise by my doctor yet and although breastfeeding has helped me shed a few pounds I still have the post-baby pooch. I can definitely hide it in this dress. I paired the dress with a belt and a wide brim hat for some fall vibes.

Thanks for reading!
XO
