How To Explore Chicago In Three Days And Two Nights

Today I want to share with you guys some photos from my recent weekend Chicago trip from two weeks ago. Me and my husband were celebrating our one year anniversary. Can't believe it's been a year since we got married. I feel like the older I get the faster life just goes on by. We wanted to go somewhere tropical but financially weren't able to because we had so many weddings this year to attend. We decide on Chicago for a fun weekend of exploring. We both had Chi-town on our travel list so we decided, what the heck lets go explore and finally taste some Chicago style hotdogs!

Day 1

We flew out on Friday early morning and we stayed at the Sheraton Suites Hotel by Elk Grove. Our room was so pretty and spacious. I couldn't stop talking about the houndstooth print curtains in our room. I really wanted to packed them and take them home. My husband just thought I was crazy lol.

The first day we arrived it was raining which sucked because we couldn't do much of the touristy things right away so we decided to keep it simple for the first night. We ended up going to the movies and it was a drink and dine movie theater so we enjoyed some cocktails by the bar. Afterwards we ended up going to a nearby arcade which was so much fun. I love arcades, brings out the kid in me.

At night we went to dinner and me and my husband played a fun game to see how well we knew each other. We ordered each others dinners without saying out loud to the waiter what we had ordered for each other, so when the plates came out it was a fun surprise. I must say my husband did good, he ordered me tilapia with mango and avocado which is something I would of ordered for myself but he also ordered me a side of broccoli. I seriously couldn't stop laughing for about 20 minutes because let's be serious ... a side plate of broccoli?! It was just an over flow of broccoli on the table. We had a good laugh. It's ok babe I still love you! Haha.

Day 2

The second day we woke up super early to get our tourist game on since the first day was raining and we couldn't do anything. We took a cab to the downtown area and we were able to visit some major landmarks!

-Planetarium
-Aquarium
-Grant Park
-Navy Pier
-Hancock center
-The Bean

We had purchased something called a Go City Card from Smart Destinations back home before leaving which was totally worth it. It's a all inclusive attraction pass. For $85 we got free admissions to over 20 places and we also got to skip the line as well. We choose about 10 places from the list and loved it. The card paid for itself in just going to two places. We were so glad we came across this site and they also have it for many other states as well.

I really LOVED Chicago. The food was so amazing. I think I probably gained 10 pounds that weekend with all the yummy food. The Chicago style hotdogs were my favorite. I don't see regular hotdogs the same any more. lol. Chicago reminded me a lot of New York so I felt a little bit at home. I'm so excited I got to check off the windy city of my travel list I would totally recommend visiting this amazing city.

Hope you guys enjoyed today's post.
Have a wonderful week!
