I Got the Blues

Monday, September 29, 2014

Monday Blues?
Hope everyone had an awesome weekend! The weather was phenomenal on the East Coast. I think we had our last real summer weekend. lol

Blue is not one of my favorite colors but when I saw this necklace I fell in love with it right away. I'm a sucker for statement necklaces and it just stood out to me so I couldn't resist to get it. I must admit after I got it, I had a really hard time trying to pair it with an outfit. Over the weekend the temperatures here on the East coast gave us one last taste of summer because it reached 80+! Since it was warm, I wanted to wear something lightweight and I opted for this crisp white sleeveless shirt. It paired very well with the necklace and I was very excited to finally wear it.
I went with light wash blue denim. I felt it complimented the necklace better and brought out the blue hue so much more. The final touches were my favorite bold red lip (of course!) and this blue clutch.

Shirt - H&M
Jeans - old (similar here)

A Fall Staple

Wednesday, September 24, 2014

It's officially fall and I'm a little sad. Wahhh!
It's ok, because my pumpkin spice lattes and colorful blazers will keep me happy during this season. Blazers are such a staple in my Kloset and I, almost, forgot I had this red gem.

You guys are probably are going to get tired of seeing blazers on the blog over the fall. I'm sorry in advance LOL. I can't help but love them in part because they are so practical in the fall. I got this blazer from the sales rack at H&M last season for $15. I wore it during the spring like weather on the blog here and now I've styled it with more of a fall vibe. I wasn't kidding when I say a blazer is practically an essential in my Kloset.
I added a mustard sweater for a little color-block, It was a light weight sweater and good start to adding in those layers little by little. I went with good old plain black jeans; that way, I wouldn't overwhelm the outfit since I was color blocking with two bright colors on top. It created the perfect balance.
To finish the look, I wore black booties and accessorized with a red over the shoulder purse and gold bangles.

Outfit Details:

Blazer - H&M (also love this one )
Sweater - H&M
Booties - Wet Seal
Bag & bangles - Forever21

On another note, I wanted to let you guys know I will be collaborating with four other lovely blogger babes and we are collectively hosting an event. I'm asking all of you to please save the date, which is Saturday October 4th. If you're in the area, please do not hesitate to stop by and shop our closets for a good cause. The proceeds will benefit victims of domestic violence. There will be drinks, giveaways and mini makeovers. I would love to see you guys there, because it's always fun to get to meet those that read my stuff. You can RSVP for the event here

Hope you guys enjoyed this post.
Have a great day and I hope to see all of you on 10/4/14!

Good Bye Summer!

Monday, September 15, 2014

Happy Monday.
It's sad for me to say my summer has ended. Wahhh! With that said, I've decided to post a little summer recap as a way to turn the page on the summer and prepare for the Fall. Are you guys ready?

Over the weekend, man did the temperature drop!. We truly had a full taste of Fall with a cool breeze and temperatures in the high 50s to low 60s. I went out to the city over the weekend and totally regret not bringing a blazer or jacket. It was super chilly. I guess I'm still mentally fighting the temperature change. I wanted to round up my favorite outfits of the summer in this post and say goodbye to summer one last time in Patty's Kloset. Which look was your favorite? This summer's fashion was super trendy. I honestly think the crop top trend took over the summer. Don't you agree? lol

I look forward to the new season not only because I'm excited about drinking pumpkin lattes (duh!) but because my blog will be turning ONE soon! I wanted to take this time to thank everyone who reads, follows, and supports my blog. Every comment doesn't go unnoticed, whether it's on the blog, Instagram, Twitter or Facebook. I truly appreciate it! I was pushed to start this blog by my husband, who's my number one supporter in everything I do. He understands my love for styling, fashion and of course my shoe obsession! lol I love that in this journey I have met a lot of awesome people and learned a lot of stuff about myself. I hope this journey takes me somewhere where my dreams become reality. Once again, if I haven't said it enough, thanks for all the love. xo

Have a great week!

Achieve the Chic Fall Look

Thursday, September 11, 2014

On Thursdays, we wear cardigans!
One of my favorite Fall go to pieces is a cardigan. They are such a Fall necessity, right? You can wear them so many different ways and they're a great way to combat that in-between weather that creeps in during the transition from Summer to Fall.

I picked this gray one up at H&M and didn't even think twice about getting it. I went for a chic comfy vibe when styling it this time.
I paired it with a pair of comfy jeans and a burgundy tee. The burgundy gives it the Fall touch I was looking for. It's one of my favorite Fall colors; what are some of yours?
The look without the cardigan was plain and simple. I love how the cardigan gives it that extra ooomph!
Finishing the look, I wore these fab shoes that I'm currently in love with. I feel like I say that about every shoe. lol Seriously, these are so bad ass and they were on a major sale, for $10. You can't beat that. I added silver accessories with a black clutch and sunnies. Sometimes, it's important to keep the accessories to a minimum, because they can steal focus from the rest of your outfit.

Outfit Details:

Cardigan- H&M (here)
Jeans - Love Culture (here)
Shoes - Joyce Leslie
Lipstick - Wet nWild #918D Cherry Bomb

Accessories:

Necklace & clutch - H&M
Sunnies - Aldos
Watch - GoJane

Achieve the chic Fall look:

Cardigan                   Lightwash Denim               Lace Up Heels

Oxblood tee             Wet N Wild

Let me know if you liked this chic Fall look? Don't forget to enter my GIVEAWAY (here) for a chance to win a Forever21 gift card!

Nolcha Fashion Week - Katty Xiomara SS15 Collection

Wednesday, September 10, 2014

I wanted to share with you guys the collection from the Katty Xiomara SS15 show I attended this past Monday in the city for Nolcha Fashion Week. The collection was full of chic feminine pieces,

Feeling Thrifty

Tuesday, September 9, 2014

Hola!
I attended a fashion show yesterday in New York City, which was a part of Nolcha Fashion week. Can I just say that I loved the whole collection by designer Katty Xiomara? Such chic pieces! I will be doing a post on the collection to share with you guys soon.

I think I finally have come to grips with the fact that the summer weather will end soon! This outfit is a great transition into Fall. I found this blazer at an amazing thrift shop during my stay in DC. I was so excited to have bumped into that thrift shop because it had so many goodies. I came out with a few good finds and this blazer was one of them, and it was only $11! I'm a sucker for blazers and I love the print. I just knew it was going to be a great wear into the Fall once I saw it.
To keep the Fall theme going, I paired the blazer with these mustard color jeans. Mustard, along with burgundy and gray, is one of my favorite Fall colors. I thought a black shirt and black heels would be a great neutral base to bring everything together. Lastly, I wore a nude clutch and my go to red lip.

Outfit Details:

Blazer - H&M via  Buffalo Exchange
Jeans - H&M
Shoes - Mandee (old)
Clutch - (gifted)DSW

Thanks for reading today's post!
Have a blessed day.

Washington DC Diary

Sunday, September 7, 2014

Happy Sunday guys!
I finally got a chance to upload my pics from when I went to DC over Labor Day weekend.
DC was so much fun, I fell in love with the architecture. The structure of the buildings are very pretty. Me and my husband had a little itinerary ready to explore as much as we could in 3 days. We made it there by bus, which was about a 4hr commute and we stood at The Westin  hotel. Some of the places we explored were the FDR Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, the International Crime Mesueum, The Washington Monument and The White House. We, also, got to walk past the Potomac River; I don't know if any of you are movie buffs, but did you see XMen: Days Of Future Past? THAT's where Wolverine got flung by Magneto!

Floral Nights

Friday, September 5, 2014

Happy Friday!
Boy did this week fly by, but I'm loving that the weekend is here.

If you follow me on Instagram, you might have noticed I was visiting Washington DC over the holiday weekend.  I wore this girly little outfit for dinner on my second night in DC to a restaurant called 14K. Very delicious food! Me and my husband ate outside to enjoy the beautiful DC night life. I will be sharing a DC diary post with lots of fun pics from my trip on my next blog post. Can't wait to share them.

Back to the outfit...
I wore this floral midi skirt with a hot pink top. The bright hue of the top brought out the floral print of the skirt even more. I kept the look very simple to have the skirt's print be the focal point of the outfit. Minimal accessories, ankle strap shoes and a plain black clutch was what I used to finish the look. I felt it kept the look simple yet classy. Would you wear this outfit on a dinner date?

Outfit Details:

Skirt - GoJane (also love this one)
Top - Easy Pickins
Shoes - Charlotte Russe
Clutch - H&M
Necklace - Primadonna

Don't forget to enter my BTS giveaway here for a chance to win a Forever21 gift card valued at $80.
Hope you everyone has a fun and fabulous weekend!!
