I Survived Black Friday 2013

Friday, November 29, 2013

Hi Everyone!

I wanted to share my version of  "I survived Black Friday 2013" with you guys. I told myself I wasn't going to go shopping for clothes this year, and that all I wanted was to buy a Canon digital camera I had my eye on at Best Buy. I really needed a camera since I started my blog and they had a good sale on the camera that I wanted. After I got home from enjoying Thanksgiving with my family, me and my fiance made a spur of the moment decision on taking advantage of some sales and go shopping, since we were waking up early for the camera anyway.

I have to say I didn't really go with a plan of attack but I knew what stores I really wanted to go to; H&M and Forever 21. I knew for sure H&M was going to have a really good sale since they had been advertising it all week. I knew that was going to be my first stop.

H&M was the most chaotic store we went to. There was no type of order going in; once those gates opened, I felt like in the beginning of the Hunger Games when the gun shot is fired and you kind of need to run for your life. lol
Once we went in I had no idea where to go. It was just crazy, so I started grabbing pieces that I liked and that were on sale and shoving them in my shopping bag. Fashion Tip of the day: when shopping under pressure and/or in big crowds don't over think an purchase. When you see it, grab it and later on when your done you can sort through what you got and use process of elimination before heading to the registers.
I ended up doing good; I got a blazer for $7, purse for $14, blouse for $9, and these cute pinned striped trousers for $14. My fiance came out with good stuff too; he got about 7 items for $40. H&M was absolutely worth waking up early for.

Next up was Forever 21. I was surprised I didn't come out with more stuff but I was very happy with what I got. I love this emerald green knee length skirt for $6. Such a good color for the holidays. I, also, got a cute plaid skater skirt for $10. And last but certainly not least, I got a pink gem necklace. I fell in love with the necklace the minute I saw it. It can surely brighten up a casual outfit. The rush wasn't so crazy in Forever 21 but the line was pretty long!

One of the last stores I purchased from was Love Culture. They had a pretty good sale going on as well. Any purchase over 20$ you got a free scarf to choose from. I got this Winter floppy hat in a beautiful burnt orange color for the Fall/Winter. It was marked down to $12.99, but by the time I got to the register it ended up being $7.99. I, also, got a pink plaid shirt. Plaid is really a big trend now, and has been for the last couple of years. I can not wait to piece these outfits together! Lastly, I got a color block/mesh bodycon dress. I got it from the sales section, which had a additional 20% off the sale price, so the final price was $12.99. I couldn't believe it! I love the dress and I will be so excited wearing this cute bargain of a dress for my birthday! (Hello to all my Sagittariuses!)

In conclusion  I SURVIVED BLACK FRIDAY 2013!! lol I think the sales were worth me waking up early for. I, also, did a little more shopping online. There are always good deals on line as well for those that don't deal well with crowds. Mission complete, I survived.

Distressed in Color

Happy post-Thanksgiving! Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving with their loved ones, and hope your not too full to read my blog today lol. Thanks for coming back to Patty's Kloset!

For today's look, I went with a very popular trend: distressed jeans. I wanted to give it a very cool and relaxed looked while still keeping it chic. These staple pieces go with pretty much everything and they look better with time. I've had these distressed jeans from Forever 21 for about 3 years, and each time I wash them they look even better. Lol

I wanted to add color to this outfit and what more colorful shoes than these Prabal Gurung pumps that I love so much. :) I paired it with a white beaded collar shirt. To keep my self layered I added a yellow knitted sweater over the shirt. I kept the accessories light since the beaded collar stood out on it's own. I chose a bold red lipstick to add to my color happy mood that I was in. :) To finish this look, I wore my over sized cobalt blue bag. Fashion tip for today: Cobalt blue is such a big color trend for this season. I really can't wait to incorporate that color in more of my outfits.

Leather and Neutrals

Wednesday, November 27, 2013

Hi everyone! We're almost approaching turkey day! Gobble gobble! Hope everyone is having a short work week this week in preparation for thanksgiving.

Now to the outfit post.

I wore a brown toned snake print dress that I got from H&M about a year ago. (I will post where to find a similar one at the end of the post).  The fact that it was flowy and was brown toned, I knew it was a piece I could wear over and over. I paired it with these awesome faux leather thigh high boots from forever 21. Ladies, if you're anything like me with a wide calf I totally recommend these. It's very hard for me to find thigh highs or knee length boots because of my calves. #WideCalvesProblems lol These thigh highs don't have any buckles or a zipper on the back so I knew they were going to fit like a glove. I wore my faux leather jacket to give it an edgier look. And to keep warm I wore my very cozy scarf and hat from Aeropostale.

Today's tip:  Sometimes it's better to not give a neutral toned outfit much color. I didn't want to give this outfit any pop of color so I finished off the look with my neutral tone handbag from target. I love this bag because it can be worn as a cross body bag as well.

Inspiration HiM

Tuesday, November 26, 2013

Hi loves! Hope everyone is having a great week. It's almost Thanksgiving! I cannot wait to get together with the family, eat, drink, and dance! What are your Thanksgiving plans this year?

Now to today's outfit details. I found these shorts in my drawer and decided to make an outfit with them. I wasn't sure what I wanted to pair them with; I was very undecided. I happened to glance at my fiance's closet and I got an idea. I took one of his snugged gray sweaters and decided to make it girly. :) (hope he didn't mind lol). The sweater is from H&M and I cuffed the sleeves a bit and added a black and gold belt so that it doesn't look too bulky.

I added gray stockings ( also from H&M) to make the color on the shorts pop a little more. The black wedges with a wood tone bottom are from ShoeDazzle.

I didn't want to add a big handbag, I felt like it would've taken away from the boyish/girly look I was going for. I wore a small plain black cross body bag from H&M over my shoulder.

Neons on Royals

Sunday, November 24, 2013

Happy Sunday loves! Hope everyone had a great weekend so far and is able to enjoy what's left of it. Winter is surely knocking on the door; it's getting really cold on the East coast, and we even had a light dusting of snow. Burrr! Let's get to to today's outfit.

I wore some semi distress jeans, which are a big trend. I cuffed them a bit on the bottom to give it a little more edgy look. I wanted to pair two bold colors together so I went with a royal blue and fuchsia. Something that I've noticed is that they are two colors that mesh well. The blazer is from H&M; I actually snagged this baby last year during Black Friday. You guys will notice that I have a big blazer obsession, they are so versatile and they can really spice up a casual outfit. They can be paired with any bottoms.

To keep warm, I added a fuchsia knitted infinity scarf from Love Culture. Since the bright colors were doing the talking, I wore a basic white tee underneath and a nude clutch. My shoes are from ShoeDazzle. The color sold me right away and the gold detail on the back and front of the shoes made them even cuter. They are about 2 inches in heels and are made for walking. To finish off the look? Gold accessories from Forever 21. I really feel like all I needed was a pumpkin latte :).

Blazer and Jewelry - H&M

Hope you guys enjoyed this outfit post! Any plans for Black Friday? It's always madness but the sales are always worth shopping at 4 AM! Fashion tip for the day? H&M will have jeans starting at $10, sweaters at $5, and outerwear at $20. Hope you guys found what you were looking for in Patty's Kloset.

The Geek in Pink

Monday, November 18, 2013

Hello Everyone!

Sorry I've been a little MIA from the blog, but apart from writing in my fashion blog I, also,  have a wedding to plan! I'm getting married in 6 months!! The time is going by so fast and there's still so much to do. This past weekend I went with my maid of honor to buy my wedding shoes, which I wanted to share with you guys and I will post at the end of today's post.

Now, let's get to today's outfit!
I had posted the layout of this outfit on my Instagram (@pattys_kloset) a few days ago. I was feeling inspired, so I thought of mixing one of favorite summer skirts and making it a fall look. I got this skirt over the summer from Joyce Leslie. I loved the color and I think the pleading on it gave the skirt a very girly vibe in comparison to a black leather skirt that screams rocker chic. I was unsure of how it would look on me because I'm only 5'1 and I didn't want it to look like I was drowning. However, once I tried it on it was the perfect pleaded skirt. I paired the skirt with a chambray top from Forever21, which I've gotten so much use of. My fashion tip for today: one of the many benefits of a chambray top is that it can be styled in various ways.

To give this outfit more of a Fall look I added a purple knitted beanie from Aeropostale.

This fabulous bag is from Justfab, which I scored for only $20. I love that it's oversized! They carry this bag in many colors, so I decided to go with good old black because I feel like this can be my everyday bag to work as well. For the accessories: a gold chain and gold bracelets are from Forever21 and my glasses, which definitely gave it the geeky look I was looking for, are my prescribed glasses. (I'm as blind as a bat, haha!), but you can find similar non prescription glasses here

My lovely comfy shoes are Jefferey Campbell Lita inspired, which I got at local shop. You can find similar ones in a variety of colors here

I hope you guys enjoyed my post today, and don't let the Monday Blues get ya ! :)

Oh, wait, I almost forgot: as promised, here are my wedding shoes that I purchased this weekend!
I found them at Bloomingdales. It was love at first sight; the minute I spotted these babies I knew those were the ones I was walking down the aisle in!

Thank you so much for reading guys, and remember: you don't have to spend a million bucks to feel like a million bucks. Patty's Kloset will be here if you need to find something to wear.
